Carcassonne [FR]

French Carcassonne is the best preserved medieval fortified city. The players are landlords and use their serfs to gain as much influence in the area as possible.

Every turn you draw a tile that you then build on the ever-expanding playing field. You can then place a serf like a robber, knight, monk or farmer on the tile that has just been placed.

With those serfs, of which you of course have a limited number, you score points when their road, city or monastery is completed. They then return to the stock and can be used again immediately.

It gets tricky when other players by smartly placing land tiles ensure that your serfs no longer have any options to ever return to your stock. So you will have to think carefully about how, when and where to use the serfs!
